Editorial Policy

How we research, verify and publish broker information — and what we will never do.

Independence

The BestStockBrokerIndia Editorial Team decides what to cover, how to evaluate brokers and in what order lists appear. Commercial relationships — advertising or affiliate agreements — have no influence on fee data, reviews or rankings. Brokers do not see, approve or pay for content before or after publication, and we would remove an affiliate link rather than change a finding.

Sources

We use primary sources: broker pricing pages, tariff sheets and account opening documents; SEBI circulars, press releases and intermediary registers; and publications from NSE, BSE, NSDL, CDSL and AMFI. Every broker review links to the official pricing page used, with the date it was checked. We do not use unnamed forum posts, social media or other comparison sites as sources for facts.

Fee verification process

  1. Each fee is recorded verbatim from the official source, with the URL and access date.
  2. In a separate review pass, the source is re-opened and every figure, SEBI registration number and depository registration is compared with it.
  3. If a charge is not published in a source we can verify, we write "not verified" rather than estimating it.
  4. All broker fees are re-checked at least quarterly and whenever a broker or regulator announces a change. The date of the last full check appears on every broker review and fee table.

What we don't do

  • We don't publish star ratings or scores we can't justify with data.
  • We don't publish fake user reviews, testimonials or invented expert quotes.
  • We don't attribute content to people who did not write it, or claim credentials we cannot show.
  • We don't give personalised investment advice or stock tips.
  • We don't declare an absolute "winner" in comparisons, because the cheaper broker depends on how you trade.

How lists are ordered

Lists are ordered by fit for the stated use case — for example, delivery cost for long-term investors, or per-order cost for active traders — using published charges, regulatory status, platform features and fee transparency. The reasoning is explained on each list.

Financial content and risk

Because our content can affect financial decisions, every page carries a byline, dates, sources and a disclaimer. Pages about derivatives show SEBI's published data on F&O losses. Calculators show their assumptions and are estimates, not quotes.

Advertisements are labelled "Advertisement" and kept visually separate from editorial content. Affiliate links are labelled and use rel="sponsored". See our advertising disclosure and affiliate disclosure.

Updates and corrections

Pages show a "last updated" date. Reported errors are checked against the official source and corrected promptly — see our corrections policy.
